Antec Engineering has announced the addition of a new series of stud welded Wear Studs from market leader AVT, to their ARCFIX range of stud welding products.
Wear Studs reduce wear on surfaces exposed to abrasion by forming a barrier between the machinery and the material being moved. It consists of applying high-chromium and high-carbon abrasion resistant studs to machinery in close formation. Wear Studs are ideally suited for use on ground engaging equipment across many applications including the deep mining industry, open pit mines, quarries, mining maintenance shops, steelworks and ore preparation plants.
The principal benefit of using AVT Wear Studs is the extreme abrasion resistance, which ultimately extends the machinery's wear life. In some areas the applied stud welded Wear Stud pattern retains the mineral debris establishing a dead bed effect, which further improves the wear resistance factor for the equipment. Wear Studs, in contrast to wear plates also offer permanent protection as the studs will not pop off even when buckets or plates buckle.
Compared to conventional welding, the process for applying AVT Wear Studs is both quick and precise. The easy to handle welding gun offers reduced heat meaning there is less risk of warping. Additionally the ability to apply the wear studs on-site reduces labour costs and machinery down-time. AVT Wear Studs comply with Australian Standards.
AVT stud welded Wear Studs are available in 3 specifications:
To affix the AVT Wear Studs, Antec also stock the highly regarded KOCO range of stud welding machines. These machines are backed by a full range of spare parts plus service and repair stud welding technicians.
